What is Search Engine Optimization?
SEO is an acronym for "search engine optimization" or "search engine optimizer." Deciding to hire an SEO is a big decision that can potentially improve your site and save you time and money. If you're thinking about optimizing your website for search engines, the earlier you consider SEO the better. A great time to hire is when you're considering a site redesign, or planning to launch a new site. That way, we can ensure that your site is designed to be search engine-friendly from the bottom up.
From thirty-first to fourth in one upgrade
(our recent success with SEO)
Integrated Property Services (IPS), a lawn care and snow removal company based out of Edmonton, Alberta, recently approached us about the possibility of improving their search engine ranking on Google. Ronan, the IPS Director of Operations, was unhappy with his website's fourth page standing when searching for "Edmonton Lawn Care" and "Edmonton Snow Removal". With those keywords, his site was ranked 31st and 33rd respectively, far too low a rank for people to find his website. The IPS site was not reaching their target market. Their top keywords were landing them a fourth page google rank and most people don't look past the first page of search results. Having worked with us previously, Ronan knew what we were capable of and that we were up to a challenge. He soon hired us to improve his website's search engine ranking.
For IPS we built a new website from the ground up with SEO in mind. We set his website up with Google Analytics, Google Webmaster Tools, and a Google Adwords Campaign to drive more traffic to his site and track how many people visit, where they are from, how they found his site, what keywords they used, how long they stay on any given page, and more. Using that information we were able to optimize the IPS website for variations of the keywords "Edmonton Snow Removal" and "Edmonton Lawn Care" as Ronan requested. Once we completed the new website, we deployed it and submitted a Site Map to help google's robots crawl and index the new IPS website more efficiently.
It took about a week for Google to completely index the new IPS website, and Ronan was overjoyed with the results. We successfully took his site from a fourth page Google ranking of 31st and 33rd for his specified keywords to a first page ranking of 4th and 6th respectively. We also managed to get his website listed first and second (where it was previously unlisted) in the "Local Business Listings" for those keywords. Since the deployment of the new website, IPS has been receiving an online Price Quote request almost every day.
